Galvanized Steel Pipe

Galvanized pipe, also known as galvanized steel pipe, is an anti-corrosion tubular profile made of high-quality carbon structural steel such as Q235B and Q355B as the base material. After being made into steel pipe blanks by hot rolling or cold drawing, a dense zinc layer is formed on the inner and outer surfaces of the steel pipe through a series of processes including pickling, fluxing, hot-dip galvanizing (or cold galvanizing), cooling and passivation. It is an upgraded anti-corrosion version of ordinary steel pipe, with both pressure-bearing, support and anti-corrosion performance, and is a widely used basic pipe in engineering construction and civil fields.
Galvanized pipe inherits the core advantage of the hollow structure of ordinary steel pipe, which is lightweight and high-strength, with excellent bending and compression resistance, can bear a certain pressure, and is suitable for various fluid transportation and structural support scenarios. At the same time, relying on the protection of the surface galvanized layer, it has extremely strong corrosion resistance. The zinc layer forms a firm metallurgical bond with the base steel pipe, with strong adhesion, which can effectively isolate corrosive media such as air, moisture, acid and alkali. Compared with ordinary steel pipe, its service life can be greatly extended, effectively reducing the later maintenance cost, and it performs prominently in humid, outdoor, coastal and industrial corrosion environments.
According to the production process, it can be divided into two categories: hot-dip galvanized pipe and cold galvanized pipe. Hot-dip galvanized pipe has uniform zinc layer thickness (up to 80-120 microns), stable anti-corrosion effect and long service life, which is the mainstream product in the market and widely used in various long-term projects; cold galvanized pipe has thin zinc layer and limited anti-corrosion performance, mostly used in short-term projects or temporary scenarios with low anti-corrosion requirements. It has a complete range of specifications, and the pipe diameter and wall thickness can be customized on demand. It can be flexibly cut, welded, bent, threaded and other processing, convenient to install, and adapt to the needs of different construction scenarios.
The core advantage of galvanized pipe is combining practicality and corrosion resistance, without additional anti-corrosion treatment, and low construction and maintenance costs. It is widely used in municipal engineering (water supply and drainage pipes, gas pipes), construction engineering (fire-fighting pipes, heating pipes, scaffolding support), outdoor infrastructure (road guardrails, communication pipes), agricultural irrigation (irrigation pipelines), industrial production (chemical medium transportation, equipment supporting pipes) and civil residential buildings (household water pipes, balcony guardrails) and other fields.
